An osteopathic consultation can lead you forward to a life free of pain without the need for various drugs that can cause harm to the body and affect the way you think from long periods of use. We consult with our patients on the best approach possible to minimize the pain they are feeling.
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a holistic, whole-body approach to optimal health. It uses “hands-on” techniques to improve the circulation of the body and alter your biomechanics without the need for drugs that can have unwanted side effects and a negative impact on your mind and body.
Some common Osteopathic techniques include stretching, gentle pressure, and resistance. This is known as Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine or “OMM.”
What can it help with?
Osteopathy is able to provide improvement and treatment for a wide range of health conditions like:
- Leg, foot, ankle, and knee pain
- Back pain, neck pain, and sciatica
- Hand, shoulder, and elbow pain
- Tennis and golfer’s elbow
- Postural problems from pregnancy, injury, driving, work strain, and digestive issues
What to expect from an Osteopathic consultation
We begin with a physical examination of the patient. During the examination, Dr. Grover will work with the patient to determine possible causes of their pain and create the appropriate treatment plan. The full examination can take an hour or more depending on the patient. You’ll be asked to do simple stretches and movemenets to accurately analyze your posture and level of mobility. This provides us with valuable information about the health of your joints, ligaments, and tissues.
From there, a treatment is proposed to meet your specific needs.
